The airport itself is small, with flights arriving from domestic airports. For flights to Tromsø from the UK, you may need to transit in Oslo, the capital city, to reach Tromsø. Once the plane touches down and baggage is retrieved, there are a range of transportation options to get you to your destination. There are airport shuttle buses operating regularly into the city from 5:40 a.m. until midnight and public buses 40 and 42 that travel to the city centre, but take a little longer. For those spending a little time at the airport, Tromsø is well serviced with bars, cafes and shops. Bar Utland offers snacks, coffee, wine or beer and the Picnic Restaurant has a good selection of snacks, cakes, light meals and dinner dishes. If you want to shop, Tromsø offers great value duty-free products, including perfume, confectionary and alcohol. There is also a bookstore stocked with a range of fiction and non-fiction titles, including plenty of inspiration for your trip to Norway.

From Tromsø, there are daily trips from May to August. There's a good chance that you'll
see both wales and white-sided dolphins in numbers. Tickets can be bought on the boat, so pick a day with good weather and head out to the sea!
